As the Nigeria largest mobile telecommunication operator, MTN Nigeria Communications Plc., served the country for two decades, the company has chosen to celebrate its success in grand Style. Acknowledging the support of Nigerians over the years, as they count their successes and milestones, noting that they could not have done it without their customers.

The company began its operation in Nigeria in the year 2001. Since then, it has grown to become the leader in the telecommunications sector, due to its exceptional service in providing calls, data and mobile money services to Nigerians. In celebrating this great day, MTN made all its subscribers have their first Call of the day up to 5minutes for free. Also, all customers were awarded free 200Mb worth of data. As part of the company's expression of gratitude towards Nigerians for their support over the years.

MTN has announced its commissioning of an ultra-modern head office that would be powered by renewable energy, here in Nigeria. The CEO of MTN, Karl Toriola, made mention of the structure serving as a central hub for creativity and innovation. “In line with our desire to plant deeper and more permanent roots in Nigeria, we have also initiated plans to commission a purpose-built, state of the art MTN Head Office, designed to act as a central hub for our network, a catalyst for creativity and innovation and a showcase for the flexible working structures that are driving efficiency gains in this new normal working environment,” Toriola said.
According to him, the project will align with the company's wider commitment to environmental sustainability and will meet the highest global environmental standards, demonstrating the role of green technology in the future. 

In the company's revealed unaudited financial statements for the half year, the CEO also stated that the company will now participate in Nigeria’s Road Infrastructure Tax Credit (RITC) Scheme.
He said, “We are pleased to announce that our Board of Directors has approved our participation in the Road Infrastructure Tax Credit (RITC) Scheme. This is in response to the Government’s drive towards public-private partnerships in the rehabilitation of critical road infrastructure in Nigeria. We intend to participate in the restoration and refurbishment of the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway.”
